He completed undergraduate studies at David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and received the Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Get to know Dr. Bob Grigsby, O.D.

When did you know that you wanted to be an optometrist

I always knew I wanted to do something in health care and it was in college that I was introduced to optometry as a profession.  In the end it has been a perfect fit for me.

Favorite part of being an optometrist

I get the privilege of helping a child who has never really seen the world clearly to navigating options to help an adult who is frustrated with their aging vision to function at a high level again.  Whether fixing an injury that takes away pain to uncovering an underlying disease the patient was unaware of but would have had long lasting consequences, each patient experience is rewarding in a unique way.  It is a true privilege.

Favorite vacation

We enjoy traveling to and exploring our National Parks.  We are blessed to have so many wonderful places to hike and enjoy God's beautiful creation.

Do you have any pets?

We live on a farm in Davie county and have been the home for many cats, dogs, and most recently a goat that has adopted us!

Fun fact

I am native of Florence, Alabama (Roll Tide).  In college I worked as a musician in the Opryland theme park.  Optometry is a much more stable career! I am married to Dr. Bonnie Aiken Grigsby and we live in Davie County.  We have recently entered into the grandparent stage of life and are having a blast. I have been involved in third world medical missions and volunteer time with the Good Shepherd clinic here in Salisbury.  I have served on the board of Carolina Bible Camp for over 20 years and am the young adult ministry leader in our church family.  Richly blessed and grateful.
